My favorite Redken lines are: Redken All Soft and Redken Smooth Down. When I highlighted my hair years ago I loved Redken Color Extend. What I like about the Redken Smooth down line is the heat glide gel they have. That is around 15-18 bucks, but it does last me months.. And since I blow dry and straighten my hair almost daily, the smooth down line has been the best on my hair when it comes to using hot irons on it. I probably only buy Redken products twice a year now (unless my husband buys me more on my birthday and other occasions) and my hair is always great after I use it.
So the secret to my great hair in the last 9 years has been: Redken. Go out and try it, see for yourself. If you don't end up liking it, I hope you find something that works for you!
If you want to try something different and at hardly no cost try my DIY shampoo. Click here:Homemade DIY Shampoo. You might like it better than store products. This was my summer project from last year when I was really getting into home projects.
Well my great hair secret is out. It's a bit costly, but in my opinion worth it.

Below is the history on how I discovered Redken:
Growing up, I never thought my hair was anything special. It was always a pain to me because of how thick and wavy it is, and every couple of months I get it super thinned out. Nine years ago, when I was in college and on my own (single) I looked for a low price hair salon and I found one. It was called Mr. Leons. This was a beauty school. I learned to ask for someone more experienced, called a senior. I was always happy with whatever senior cut my hair, and the price was about 8 bucks and under. I knew that was a great deal!
My first visit to Mr. Leons was great. They washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner at no additional cost. I really liked my hair cut and the softness of my hair. I asked what brand was used in my hair for washing and the senior said she used Redken on me. She also told me if I wanted to keep my hair healthy then to use Redken products for two weeks, then use Garnier Frutis products for a couple of days and then go back to Redken. I decided she knows about hair better than I do, so I gave it a shot.
I found Redken products at Regis hair salon and the Walmart hair salon. Little did I know how expensive Redken would be. In the Redken stands at the salons there were also gift packages of Redken Shampoo and Conditioner for about $15-20, but the bottles were smaller. I decided to buy a big bottle of Redken Color Extend shampoo and Reken All Soft conditioner. It was probably around $30.00 bucks each. And I figured if it was in big bottles they should last a while, right? After using the Redken products I noticed my hair was very healthy, shinny, smooth, soft. This was definitely worth $60 bucks or so.
When some people asked me about what I used for my hair and I'd tell them I used Redken and how much it costs, they would say it was crazy to spend that much money on shampoo and conditioner. And maybe it was, but I've never had such great results before on my hair from anything else in the past. To help with costs and spending I would buy other hair washing products like Garnier, or Suave. I still continued to try different Redken products throughout the years and looked for specials on Redken. Sometimes they have great saving deals. I would go months without Redken, but then I would buy the small packages for $15-20 and instantly see a difference.
Xoxo,
Vallz

I'll have to try Redken next time! It sounds good. We have been buying cheapo shampoo lately and you get what you pay for. Sometimes it's totally worth it to splurge!
ReplyDeleteYou should. I don't think you'll be disappointed. They have a huge selection of lines to chose from for all different hair types. I've only used 3 of their lines but I love them! I too have been buying cheap shampoo like suave. I did just buy their All Soft Heavy Cream ($20). It's a conditioner you can leave in your hair 5-20 minutes and I only use it once every couple of weeks so it lasts very long. Every time I do though, my hair is in hair heaven.
