The Power of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)

After a few weeks of using my own Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) infused makeup remover, my face has felt very cleaned and quite moisturized.

Extra virgin olive oil is used in some hair products, so I went to this livestrong page and followed the paragraph titled Olive Oil.

What I did different:
I used a half cup of extra virgin olive oil on my entire scalp and hair. Then I wrapped my hair in a towel. I let it sit for 30 minutes and then washed it out. It took two washes to get out because I have long thick hair. After my hair was dry my husband even commented on how shinny and soft my hair was. Yay for me! I will probably do this every two weeks or monthly as a conditioning treatment.

I bought a bottle of Extra Olive Virgin Oil from the Grocery Outlet last year (it was the only one I could find in that store, and it's "organic") and I still have some. It wasn't expensive then and has lasted a long time. I know when I run out I can run to our local Big Lots store where they have the same size bottle I have for 5 bucks or so.

So for  bucks of Organic or Non Organic Olive Oil that lasts months for me, I get makeup remover and a conditioning treatment! Not a bad deal for my wallet! Xoxo Vallz!

  1. that's so awesome! I think I might like to try the make-up remover...I've tried Johnson & Johnson's baby oil (before I knew how bad their products were), and I noticed that it would take the make-up off easily, but my face would still feel greasy the next day. Does the olive oil do that?

  2. I need to change the title to Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The EVOO doesn't make my skin feel oily/greasy. I am not sure if regular olive oil does the same results, but EVOO has been really great for me. I hope when you try it that it's not greasy.... I found web searches saying EVOO isn't supposed to clog or make you face feel oily.
